SEAKR Craft Fair

Hello everyone!  I hope you are all doing wonderfully!  We had a fun week out here, highlighted by the SEAKR craft fair on Friday!  Monica had a table at it and brought some baby stuff to sell!  Brooke got to spend time with me at work, and she got to see my desk, sit in my chair, and even hug the Christmas tree in the lunch room!

This past week Brooke found out that her laptop plays the ABC song, or as she calls it "ABBBC".  The laptop plays songs at random, but if you switch it off of music and back the first song is always ABC, so I taught Brooke how to change the modes and everything because she freaks out and cries if another song plays...  At least ABCs is the first song.  In the picture she is relaxing to a round of ABC, but sometimes, she danced!

Brooke continues to do better and better at brushing her teach.  And Jelly continues to get more and more comfortable with water and the sink!  We leave the sink on really low while we brush so Jelly can get a drink, and she's started to lay in the sink while it's on and drink!  We'd been told Siberians liked water, but so far Jelly hasn't been very fond of getting wet.  As she's growing out of being a kitten I feel like she's been changing a lot lately.  She likes to be pet a lot more and doesn't mind getting wet, and is typically less wild in general.

On Friday SEAKR had their second annual craft fair.  I got an email about it a few months ago, but somehow missed the sign up.  I got a reminder on Thursday and we asked if it was too late.  Fortunately they still had an open half of a table, so Monica got to go.  She took the dinosaur and giraffe baby toys she makes, hair bows, and some sets of burp clothes.  She was also kind enough to let me put some copies of my game out for display.

Here's a picture of everything again.  The fair went well for us both.  I sold two copies of my game, and Monica sold a giraffe, a set of burp clothes, and 4 dinosaurs with an outstanding order for one for a boy (she only had girly ones left at the end).  We were both happy and celebrated by going out to eat at Casa Mariachi for dinner!

During the craft fair I took Brooke and tried to keep her entertained.  We spent a bunch of time in the lunch room eating oranges, crackers, and dried apples.  We also took a picture with SEAKR's Christmas tree.  We tried to go fly a kite because there was a little wind, but by the time we got out there the wind was gone... :(  But we still tried a little.  There was also some hot chocolate out for attendees that we tried, and Brooke sure enjoyed eating the marshmallows!

As mentioned, that night to celebrate our success we went out to dinner.  Shaylee (one of the people who came over for Thanksgiving) had ordered a copy of Egyptian Architects (from right here!) and her apartment was on the way so we dropped it off and invited them to join us.  Her husband works nights and had just left with the car seat in the car! So we got take out instead and ate at their place.  We all had a lot of fun, and I think she appreciated some adult company (though Brooke did make her daughter cry...).

On Saturday we received a package from Gram with a new Christmas sheet and pillow case!  The sheet has kittens in stockings, and the pillow case is covered in reindeer.  Brooke loves them!  She was so excited to have them in her crib, and now she has to bring her pillow downstairs when she wakes up.

Jelly appears to enjoy the scent of my feet.  When I take off my shoes she'll lay on them, and sometimes stick her head down in them.  I wouldn't expect that to be the most comfortable place to lay, but who am I to judge.

Today in Gospel Principles we talked about the Millennium!  We're just skating through deep topics that aren't fully understood through the end of the year!  There were a lot of questions that came up, and a lot of good discussion.  One of the things that stood out to me int he lesson is that in the Millennium there will be members of many faiths here on the Earth.  There was a quote that talked about Christ governing the whole earth, and that those who weren't members of the church would still have to abide by the laws of God's kingdom during the Millennium.  I feel like it's been a long while since I've been in lessons that go through the Plan of Salvation in such depth, and it's been great to be learning so much about it again!  I'm so grateful for the Plan of Salvation and that we all have the opportunity to return to live with God again!
