New Piano

Howdy y'all!  Yesterday we became the proud owners of a piano!  Another member of our ward had recently gotten a baby grand piano, and didn't have a spot/need for their upright any more, and now here it is in our living room!  Everyone loves it!  The girls like to play on it, and surprisingly haven't slammed on the keys at all, and Jelly loves to sit on top.  There has almost been someone at the piano non-stop during waking hours since we brought it home yesterday.  Hopefully the enthusiasm will continue.

Jelly continues to love sitting on me while I foam roll.  This past week she started getting all kinds of cuddly as well and was rubbing all over me with her face.  Also, as I was finishing up my warm up for my tempo run on Monday morning the treadmill died.  The belt just completely stopped, and when I stepped off it didn't start going again...  I looked up some ways to diagnose what was wrong at work, and when I got home I tried some stuff and I turned the treadmill on and without anyone one it it flipped the 20 amp breaker...  sigh...  more on that later.

We finally took down the balloon arch from Winry's birthday, and the girls continued to have fun with it, one last time!

On Tuesday everyone went to check out a potential preschool for next year, and it was right by the bagel store, so they stopped by afterwards.  Don't worry though, they saved some bagel for me, so I didn't even have to miss out!

Later that day it was karaoke time with Frozen!  Brooke rocked it with some really great dance moves!  Winry won the loudest singer, and biggest mouth awards!

That night when we were getting ready for bed and reading scriptures, Winry started running circles around me.  Yes, we always pay great attention to scriptures...  Every once in a while she'd fall down with her legs toward me and say "pull me, pull me!"

On Thursday, Monica and I went to a basketball game.  The Jazz were in town playing the Nuggets, and Monica got me tickets to the game for Christmas.  I keep finding out that more and more people I know were at the game!  We had a great time, but unfortunately the home team won... sigh...

However, that didn't deter me from getting ice cream!!  Would I eat it again? Yes.

Also, Rocky came right to our seats!  Well, he was really seeing the person behind us, but he stood on the back of our seats!  Look how happy it made Monica!  To be honest, the whole experience went a lot smoother than expected and we had a super great time.  The traffic getting to the stadium was negligible, and we got there about 30 minutes before tip off, and we didn't get stuck in traffic on the way out either!  If we can find a good deal it's definitely something we'd take the whole family to some time!

On Friday, Monica made cookies, and I came home to a rather messy Winry!  This is Monica's picture from when she was eating the cookie, but facial conditions hadn't really gotten better by the time I got home.

That night the sugar kicked in, and we had a dance party!  The girls grabbed some stuffed animals and were ready to dance the night away!

The new treadmill belt came on Friday, so after bedtime I went to the basement and started pulling things apart.  Here's the state of everything after I got the old belt off.  The old belt didn't seem particularly terrible to me, but I don't know about these things, and after chatting with a repair person online this seemed like the best place to start.  I've also put over 2000 miles on the treadmill, and we've had it for years, so between wear and dust accumulation and stuff, I didn't mind replacing something.

Anyway, I cleaned the treadmill up as I went and here it is with the new belt on.  It looks practically new!  I tried it a little on Friday night after I reassembled everything and lubed the belt, and it seemed like it would be fine.  The real test was my run on Saturday.  Everything worked wonderfully!  In fact, it felt like when it was new again!  I'll definitely have to be better with maintenance (mostly lubing the belt) in the future!  I'm also glad I was able to fix it because who knows how long or how much it would have cost to have someone else come do it.

After my run on Saturday morning we went and got the piano, but I already talked about that up front, and it's basically been all piano all the time since then!  Hope everyone has a great week ahead of them!
