Brooke's First Dance Recital

Hello everyone.  A bit of a short week out here, what with the last post going out on Wednesday night, and this post basically only covering since then.  It's ok though, last week was super extra long, so I figure that will make up for it.  The highlight of this week was Brooke's dance recital!  She had a blast and did such a great job with her dance!  And she even got to be in the middle... for most of it.  I'll talk more about that when we get down there though.

On Wednesday morning Brooke got her backpack filled with doctor supplies and grabbed her doggy and kitty because they were really sick and needed some serious attention right away!  She looked so grown up, and it kind of startled me into realizing that school is just around the corner for her!  Brooke is laying next to me while I'm writing this and she just looked at this picture and said "I am gorgeous!"

On Wednesday Monica had her dentist appointment, and the kids had a great time playing together.  The dentist even let them take another prize after Monica's appointment ended.  I also had an appointment this past week, and while I got reminders about Brooke's and Monica's appointment, I don't ever remember seeing anything about mine and completely missed it... so I need to call and reschedule... :(

On Wednesday Monica's mom, Gram, came out to stay with us.  I believe they did work out in the garden and worked on painting the basement throughout the week.  Then on Friday afternoon my parents arrived.  Also on Friday afternoon we got carpet installed in the basement!  It came just in time to have a place for everyone to sleep.  And everyone came just in time for Brooke's dance recital.

Saturday morning was showtime for Brooke.  Everyone enjoyed the show.  Especially Winry who was dancing to the music!

Brooke knocked it out of the park!  She did a great job, and at one point one of the other girls came and took her spot, but Brooke did a great job recovering and continued with the dance!  Also, I really liked the picture to open the blog because all of the kids do the same letters together, and everyone was supposed to be doing a "V" (good job Brooke!), but the first 3 kids are doing "L" "O" and "V"!

Afterwards we gave Brooke a bouquet of flowers and got some pictures before taking off.  Brooke was, unfortunately, not smiling in our family picture, so this one of her and Monica turned out the best.

After, we all went to Chick-Fil-A to celebrate, and everyone had a great time... except Winry who was tired and had a stomachache we think. Anyway, later on Brooke decided to go for a run on the treadmill.  I guess now that we have carpet she can play on anything...  Honestly, she loved being down there, and loved to lay on the air mattresses that were still out that my parents used the night before.  She just wanted to be down there all day, and still wants to today.

Later in the afternoon a hail storm blew in from nowhere!.. Yup, that's all... just that.

Monica took her mom to the airport.  While she was gone the kids played make up for a really long time, and Brooke wanted to put make up on everyone.  I think I sat more still, but I think Winry enjoyed getting make up the most!

I think that's about it for the week.  Really, the main attraction was Brooke's dance recital.  The carpet in the basement is always a pretty big deal.  It finally feels usable down there, though it still needs a bit of work to be finished.  I don't really have a good picture of the carpet, but you can see it in the picture of Brooke on the treadmill.  Anyway, I hope everyone has a stellar week!
