Chick-fil-a, Build-A-Bear, and Naadam!

What a packed week!  When it rains it pours!  And speaking of pouring, it currently is pouring rain and hail.  It started hailing as we were trying to put the kids down for bed... so everyone is up right now because the wind was whipping it straight into their windows...  At least we're all happy.  We just got back from a Build-A-Bear trip, but I'll talk more about that in a little.

This week was like "cool event week" all over the place.  On the 10th Chick-fil-a had "Cow appreciation day" where if you dressed like a cow you got a free entree!  We of course had to go for dinner!  We made spots out of felt to pin to everyone's shirts, and Brooke really wanted to be a pink cow!  Here we all are saying MOOOO!

Here I am with Brooke while we're waiting for our food!

And Winry was eating her spots!  I think that's a real cow thing!  Anyway, we had a great time, and we payed like $4 because I wanted fries and a frosted lemonade!  While we were there someone brought in a cow statue with them.  It was about the size of an actual calf, so that drew a little attention! :)

This past week I decided to try to make Brooke a puzzle.  She really likes doing puzzles lately, and she loves Goldie and Bear, and we don't have a Goldie and Bear puzzle.  So I printed a picture and then cut it into a puzzle with the Cricut.  It worked pretty well, though I wasn't using a deep cut blade, so it didn't cut all the way through.  I'll have to use some thinner cardboard next time and I think it'll turn out a lot better.

On the vein of free stuff this past week was also 7/11, on which you can get a free slurpee at 7-11.  We missed that one, but I wanted to note it because it was on topic.

Thursday the 12th was pay your age day at Build-A-Bear.  So you got any bear for whatever your age was (minimum $1).  So Monica went with some friends and waited out the lines and got 2 bears for $3!  We saved at least $45!  All in all she ended up in line for about 5 hours, but everyone was happy and Brooke and Winry had a lot of fun, so it was perfect as it gave them something to do all morning!  Here's a picture of everyone in line!

There was plenty of time for fun activities like coloring!  I'll be honest, I wasn't there, so I don't really know how long this went on for, but at least Brooke was able to have a lot of fun!

She also spent some time in the stroller and I know Winry took a nap (at least one) in line.  Eleanor even climbed on so everyone could play together!

In the end we got the bears, but didn't wait in the line to get them stuffed.  We took them back today for family home evening.  I do have pictures and videos of it, but I'm going to save them for next weeks blog post, so stay tuned for that!  When everyone finally got home it was time for some relaxation.  Brooke's bear joined her in watching a little Goldie and Bear.  Brooke got to play with her bear a little before it was stuffed, but we told her she needed to be super careful with it, and she did an awesome job!

Brooke tried to steal my shoes this past week.  It's a wonder she didn't get away with a fit that good.

Also, in Jelly's quest to travel through every part of our house, she went under Brooke's dresser this past week.  She hasn't gotten stuck anywhere yet, so that's good.

This past week on Wednesday-Friday was Naadam, which is one of the two major holidays in Mongolia.  We always celebrate by making Huushuur, and this year was no different.  We actually made huushuur on Saturday, as we were having the missionaries over for dinner that night.  We let them make some of them too, and everyone enjoyed it!  We even finished off with some apple pie huushuur.

And here's Brooke eating dinner with the Mongolian flag hanging up!

Boy was it a crazy week this past week!  It was nice that we had lots of things to do all week long, and all of it was a lot of fun too!  I hope everyone had a wonderful week, and hopefully you found a free promotion too!
