Whoa, check that beauty out! We finally got a playground for the backyard! The boxes arrived on like Wednesday, well the first set of them. I tried to start putting it together, but was missing the needed box pretty quickly and had to wait. Everything was here by Saturday and I spent most of the day outside assembling. Brooke came out and helped me for much of the day as well, and she was a great help! I don't think I would have finished it without her out there with me. As soon as it was ready, the kids were ready to go play, and spent basically the rest of the day out there. I believe at least some of them even took their dinner outside to eat.
A wee bit earlier in the week I was out for a walk through our neighborhood and saw a deer!
Lately when Grayson has been getting up in the morning, he shoves some stuffed animals in his pajamas before coming down. At least, I assume he does it in the morning and isn't sleeping with them in there. Anyway, he comes downstairs and unzips to have babies each morning, like so.
I saw a squirrel in our backyard this week too. The kids left some toys out, and it was REALLY interested in the cloth bag. When I cleaned it up I didn't see anything in there so I'm not sure what the excitement was about.
Oh, here's the playground about halfway through. I was still able to lift it up and move it around a little.
Saturday night we actually did a little Father's day a day early because Sunday is going to be quite the day. Here I am with my wonderful kids!! I even got an All About my Dad from Grayson!
Sunday, the kids sang at church, which was great to hear as always.
And shortly after church we headed to the airport to go to Australia. Yup. This is what made things a bit crazy. Not only that, but I had a crazy week at work, and was trying to put together that playground. I didn't start doing any preparation for our trip until Saturday night after the kids went to bed. And after packing there was plenty of cleaning to do, etc. Anyway, here we are at the airport with Grayson in a very appropriate shirt for a long flight.
We saw this pretty awesome chair that Grayson took a quick stop in on the way to our gate.
And everyone but Grayson had a neck pillow, but he found a good one in the airport to bring on the plane. Now we're ready to go!
We had a layover in LAX where we met up with Niki! The kids were super excited to see her. It was great teaming up with her and getting some help with the kids.
There was a nice display up for Father's day, and it seemed an appropriate time to grab a quick pic and celebrate.
And here we are on the flight to Australia! Our flight took off around 12:30 am Texas time, so everyone got to bed!
And here's the back row. Niki was so nice and sat by two kids and got swarmed on both sides when they both fell asleep! Not in this picture, but I guess you'll have to come back next week and see what I mean!
